
Mauritania, Arab Development Fund discuss enhanced cooperation in Washington
Mauritania held talks on Tuesday, October 14, in Washington with the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development to explore ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation and review development programs funded by the Fund.
The discussions focused on key sectors including infrastructure, energy, and rural development, highlighting ongoing projects aimed at boosting the country’s economic growth and improving living standards.
The meeting took place between Mauritania’s Minister of Economic Affairs, Abdallahi Ould Souleïmane Ould Cheikh Sidiya, and Fawzi Youssef Al-Haneef, Chairman of the Fund’s Board of Directors, on the sidelines of the annual meetings of the World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund. Both sides also discussed coordination mechanisms between Mauritania and the Arab Coordination Group to monitor and mobilize financing commitments made during the recent development roundtable for Mauritania.
