
Moroccan stadiums to be ready by August to host 2025 African Cup of Nations
An ongoing upgrade of nine stadiums will be completed between March and August this year ahead of the African Cup of Nations due in December, the Moroccan government said.
Benslimane stadium, near Casablanca, will be ready in December 2027, ahead of the 2030 World Cup, the Moroccan government said in a statement following a meeting chaired by the head of the government.
Benslimane stadium, worth 500 million dollars, will be the biggest in the World with 115,000 seats.
Speaking to the press after the meeting, Head of Morocco’s football federation, Fouzi Lekjaa said the Mohammed V Complex in Casablanca will be operational by the end of March.
Renovations of the stadiums in Fez, Agadir, Marrakech, and the Moulay Abdellah Complex in Rabat will follow shortly, ensuring modern and internationally compliant facilities, he said.
