Agadir, Cadiz ports consider direct maritime link

Head of Cadiz port authority, Teófila Martínez, said talks are ongoing with Agadir port officials to launch a direct maritime route.

The link will also be dedicated to roll-on/roll-off or trucks, Martinez told Radio Cádiz.

The new route will be conducive to the region of Agadir’s agri-food exports to the European market via Cadiz, he said.

The link adds to the recently agreed upon direct maritime route to Dakar, which will make it easy for Moroccan trucks to reach the West African market.

The vessel is undergoing the latest delivery preparations and will have a capacity to transport 120 trucks.
