U.S. OSHKOSH To Make HET A1 Tractors For Morocco Army

Oshkosh Defense Firm, global leader in the design and production of top class military vehicles, has announced it received a direct commercial sales order to supply Heavy Equipment Transporter (HET) A1 tractors and 635NL trailers to Optimum Vehicle Logistics. The HET A1 systems will be fielded to the Royal Moroccan Armed Forces.
The HET A1 tractor provides line haul, local haul, and maintenance evacuation of the heaviest mission-critical equipment including tanks, armored vehicles, and recovery vehicles.
“We are pleased to supply the Kingdom of Morocco with additional heavy tactical wheeled vehicles in support of its M1 Abrams modernization efforts,” said Pat Williams, chief programs officer for Oshkosh Defense.
Morocco and the United States share common concerns and consult closely on security, political, and economic issues and sustainable development. The United States designated Morocco a Major Non-NATO Ally in 2004, and the U.S. and Moroccan militaries hold joint exercises and training.
Morocco is a strong U.S. partner in counterterrorism efforts. The two countries coordinate their actions to promote regional stability and security.
