Egypt mulls plans to produce local Covid-19 vaccine
Egypt is planning the production of a new Egyptian jab “EgyVax” in collaboration with private sector player Eva Pharma, the Supreme Council of Universities, and the Agriculture Research Center, the ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research said in a statement.
The Supreme Council of University Hospitals, the Center for Agricultural Research, and Eva Pharma Pharmaceutical Company will conduct inquiry studies for the production of the new Egyptian vaccine “Egyvax” against the novel coronavirus, as well as the research required to confirm from the safety and effectiveness of vaccine.
Eva Pharma will manufacture the vaccine that will undergo clinical trials before getting the green light for production.
The higher education and agriculture departments will work according to the statement on producing the viral antigen for the vaccine.
