Morocco-OECD: Launch of Phase II of Country Program
Morocco and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) launched on Thursday the second phase of the country program which enables the Kingdom to benefit from the OECD expertise and support in public governance, inclusive economic growth, gender equality, human capital development, the fight against corruption…
The 2nd phase of the Morocco Country Program was kicked-off remotely by the Coordination Committee which is steering this project. Members of this Committee, which gathers several Moroccan officials and representatives of OECD, reviewed results of the first phase of the Program (2015-2018) and agreed on the goals and projects of the second phase of this cooperation program whose implementation started early 2021.
Under this program, the OECD will provide Morocco with the necessary know-how to develop and strengthen its economic and social reform plan with a view to spur strong, inclusive, and sustainable growth.
The Country Program is an innovative OECD tool that enables select partner economies to leverage OECD expertise and best practices, strengthen institutions, build capacity for successful policy reforms and align themselves to OECD standards.
Morocco is one of the few partners to have been selected for this bilateral work program. It is based on a mutually beneficial partnership set within the frame of the MENA-OECD Initiative.
Morocco has already adhered to 30 OECD legal instruments and regularly participates in several OECD committees, allowing Moroccan experts access to an important network of international advisors in various sectors.
