KSA-Morocco: 34-strong-Saudi-led coalition to take on terrorism, Morocco key player

Saudi Arabia Monday announced creation of an Islamic coalition of made 34 countries to wage war against terrorism with Morocco emerging as regional tiger, reports say.
The announcement was made by Saudi Defense Minister, Mohammed bin Salman, son of Saudi Monarch Salman.
The new coalition according to the minister will include Jordan, United Arab Emirates, Pakistan, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Benin, Turkey, Chad, Togo, Tunisia, Djibouti, Senegal, Sudan, Sierra Leone, Somalia, Gabon, Guinea, Palestine, Comoros, Qatar, Cote d’Ivoire, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Maldives, Mali, Malaysia, Egypt, Morocco, Mauritania, Niger, Nigeria, Yemen and Saudi Arabia as main power-house.
The 34 members all belong to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation; an organization already in action in Yemen to flash out Houthi rebels said supported by Iran fighting President Hadi’s loyal forces.
Morocco features among key players including Saudi Arabia, UAE, and Jordan.
According to press, the coalition will be headquartered in Riyadh and is charged with fighting against terrorism across the Muslim world. Ten other countries among which Indonesia have stood together with future coalition and have also pledged to join.
Prince Mohamed Salman also indicated that the force will combat the Islamic State (IS) as well all other terrorist organizations sowing terror.
Morocco is already engaged with the Saudi-led coalition in Yemen carrying out air-raid against the Shia-rebels.
The Moroccan kingdom has signed military cooperation with Saudi Arabia.
