Morocco increased its blueberry exports to Switzerland for the third consecutive marketing year. Between July 2025 and June 2026, Switzerland imported 655 tons of Moroccan blueberries valued at more than US$8.9 million, according to EastFruit news platform.
Shipments increased 75 per cent compared with 2024/25 season, reaching a record for trade between the two countries. Over the past three years, Moroccan blueberry shipments to Switzerland have increased 2.3-fold, with an average annual growth rate of 33 per cent.
Switzerland remains dependent on imported blueberries, with imports increasing for five consecutive years at an average annual rate of 10 per cent. In the 2025/26 agricultural season, total blueberry imports reached 11,800 tons, up 17 per cent year on year.
Moroccan blueberries are supplied to Switzerland from November through June, with volumes peaking in spring, when Swiss seasonal demand is highest.
During the 2025/26 campaign, Switzerland imports of blueberry from Poland, Italy, and South Africa declined, while shipments from Spain, Peru, the Netherlands, Chile, and Morocco increased. Morocco recorded the highest growth among these origins, moving into Switzerland’s five largest blueberry suppliers for the first time.
