The Republic of Guinea has reaffirmed its steadfast support for the Autonomy plan offered by Morocco for the Sahara under its sovereignty, affirming that the proposed Moroccan plan is the ONLY feasible solution to the Sahara conflict.
The supportive stand was expressed by Foreign minister of this West African country Morissanda Kouyaté during the 8th session of Morocco-Guinea Joint Cooperation Committee, he co-chaired Tuesday in Conakry with Moroccan peer Nasser Bourita.
The Guinean minister said the opening by his country of a Consulate in Dakhla reflects Conakry’s recognition of the Moroccanness of the Sahara. He also lauded the initiatives launched by King Mohammed VI for Africa’s development, citing in this regard the royal initiatives for landlocked Sahel States, the Atlantic African States and the African-Atlantic Gas Pipeline project.
Moroccan foreign minister thanked Guinea for its unconditional and unwavering support for Morocco’s territorial integrity, as demonstrated during various regional and international fora.
He also voiced the Kingdom’s readiness to share its development experience with Guinea and strengthen bilateral cooperation in security, fisheries, healthcare, industrial and agricultural processing, food security, skills development, water management and energy.
The 8th session of the Morocco-Guinea Cooperation joint Committee was crowned with the signing of 25 agreements in economy, finance, air transport, customs, agriculture, energy, tourism, justice, healthcare, meteorology, ports, housing & urban planning, sports, culture, handicrafts, higher education, scientific research, academic scholarships and vocational training.
