Morocco-U.S. Security Cooperation Expands to Correctional Sector

The Moroccan National Institute for the Training of Prison Administration Staff, affiliated with the General Delegation for Prison Administration and Rehabilitation, has become the first training institution in Africa and the Arab world to receive accreditation from the American Correctional Association.

The Moroccan training institute has earned American recognition thanks to ongoing support from the Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs under the U.S. Department of State, said the U.S. embassy in Morocco in a post published Thursday on its X account.

As Morocco and the United States are celebrating nearly 250 years of partnership, the two countries are strengthening their security cooperation with the exchange of experiences in safety strategies and criminal justice.

The American Correctional Association (ACA) is a leading voice in professional corrections. Rooted in a commitment to public safety and human dignity, ACA promotes excellence in correctional management through accreditation, education, research, and advocacy.

It serves as a unifying force for correctional professionals across the nation and around the globe, fostering accountability, leadership, and continuous improvement.
