The Moroccan Atlantic city of Agadir has been named among the ten best destinations for sun and swimming in September by German travel portal HolidayCheck. The Moroccan coastal city was included in a list of destinations reachable within a few hours’ flight that offer less crowded beaches, stable weather and seas that remain warm through the late summer.
HolidayCheck singled out Morocco as a well-suited destination for travelers seeking sun in September, and highlighted the dry climate of the Atlantic coast around Agadir, its wide sandy beaches and its distinctive atmosphere. The portal noted that in September, air temperatures in Agadir can reach around 30 degrees Celsius, while sea temperatures hover near 22 degrees, conditions the outlet described as ideal for a late-summer beach holiday.
The recommendation also pointed to the practical appeal of the destination, noting that many hotels in Agadir offer all-inclusive packages and are located directly on the beachfront, features HolidayCheck considers ideal for travelers looking to relax without extensive planning. The combination of accessibility, favorable weather and beachfront accommodation appears central to the city’s inclusion in the ranking.
Beyond the beach itself, HolidayCheck recommended visitors take time to explore Agadir’s souk, and suggested an excursion to nearby Essaouira, which it described as a small artists’ town known for its white-and-blue alleyways. The inclusion of these side trips suggests the portal is positioning Agadir not simply as a beach stop but as a base for exploring the wider region.
The recognition offers Agadir international visibility heading into the September travel season, with HolidayCheck’s endorsement highlighting a stretch of the year when the resort city can extend its appeal for beachgoers beyond the traditional peak summer months, thanks to the combination of thinner crowds, stable conditions and warm coastal waters described in the portal’s selection.
