Gambia’s President Adama Barrow has sent a written message to King Mohammed VI, whose contents were not disclosed.
The message was carried by Presidential envoy and Foreign Minister Sering Modou Njie, who handed it over to Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita at a meeting held Thursday in Rabat.
In a press statement following the meeting, Njie lauded the friendly and brotherly ties uniting the two countries, as well as the shared willingness to bolster the strategic partnership, in line with the vision of the two countries’ heads of state.
He expressed the deep gratitude of the Gambian President, government and people to King Mohammed VI for his constant support for the Gambia’s socio-economic development.
The Gambia’s top diplomat hailed in this connection the exceptional commitment of the King to strengthening the ties with the Gambia, as materialized by the numerous agreements signed between both countries, and the initiation of major projects that contribute to strengthening bilateral cooperation and stimulating exchanges between the Moroccan and Gambian peoples.
He also praised the excellent relations binding the two countries and their cordial and mutually beneficial ties, grounded in shared values of friendship, brotherhood and solidarity, reiterating his country’s firm determination to strengthen bilateral cooperation in areas of common interest.
