Morocco’s posts fastest growth in Africa millionaire’s ranking, Capgemini says

Morocco recorded a sharp rise in its population of wealthy individuals in 2025, with the number of millionaires increasing by 16.8%, the fastest growth rate in Africa, according to Capgemini’s latest World Wealth Report.

The 30th edition of the report, published on June 4, shows Morocco leading the continent in wealth creation, driven by the diversification of its extractive industries, strong export sectors and a dynamic entrepreneurial base, according to the ranking.

Morocco is also home to several billionaires, with combined fortunes exceeding $4.7 billion according to the 2026 Forbes ranking, reinforcing the country’s position as one of Africa’s key wealth centers, the report added.

However, the rapid expansion of Morocco’s affluent population presents challenges for the domestic wealth management industry, which must modernize to retain these assets in the face of competition from international financial hubs.

For Africa, where wealthy individuals’ assets grew by around 7%, the key challenge lies in adopting advanced technologies to meet evolving client expectations, the report said.
