Morocco will be the guest of honor at this year’s Morelia International Book Fair in Mexico.
Organizers had considered up to three potential guests from the Middle East and South America before choosing Morocco, according to information released by local cultural authorities.
The fair will take place from the last week of September to the final week of October at Morelia’s Plaza de Armas, bringing together publishers, authors and cultural figures for several weeks of public discussions and book presentations.
Morocco’s participation is expected to be a central feature of the fair’s programming, though detailed plans, including literary panels and cultural events, are still under discussion.
