British Trade minister Chris Bryant arrived Tuesday in Rabat accompanied by 50 UK businesses for talks with Moroccan government officials and private sector on the investment opportunities as the North African Kingdom will co-host the FIFA World Cup 2030, one of the largest global economic events.
After his talks with Moroccan Foreign minister Nasser Bourita, the British minister told media Morocco is a land of opportunities, stressing that his country is looking forward to increasing by 50 % bilateral trade over the next five to seven years. Backed by a £5 billion UK Export Finance, the UK and Morocco are unlocking opportunities for lasting economic growth.
In 2025, trade between the two countries reached £4.7 bn, a 19% year-on-year growth. Morocco’s exports to UK consist mainly of agricultural fresh produce (tomatoes, cucumbers, and blueberries), electronics and automotive components, while it imports from the UK industrial machinery, mineral fuels, refined foods, and specialized financial services.
After his meeting with Bourita, visiting UK trade minister and Moroccan peer Ryad Mezzour launched Morocco-UK Business Forum to boost further investment and economic cooperation between the two countries building a model win-win partnership based on mutual trust and complementarity.
British companies are interested in the projects launched by Morocco in preparations for the World Cup especially in transportation, security, logistics, hospitality, infrastructures…
Morocco and the United Kingdom will also hold the 4th session of their Association Council.
