King Mohammed VI has addressed a message of royal recognition to Abdellatif Hammouchi, Director General of the National Security and Territorial Surveillance, in response to a loyalty message conveyed to the Monarch by Hammouchi, on behalf of the national police family, on the occasion of the DGSN’s 70th founding anniversary.
In his message, the King commended the dedication of the men and women of the national police, praised their generous and tireless efforts and the devotion with which they discharge their demanding responsibilities — serving citizens’ interests, safeguarding the nation’s security and stability, and preserving public order. The royal message closed with an expression of the Sovereign’s high solicitude, benevolence and satisfaction toward Hammouchi and all DGSN personnel, with a prayer for the Almighty to crown their efforts with success.
The anniversary marks a significant milestone for an institution that has undergone sustained modernization under Royal impetus. The annual DGSN Open Days held in Rabat this week provided the backdrop for high-profile security showcases, including the unveiling of AI-powered patrol vehicles and a locally manufactured drone named Madar.
Interpol President Lucas Philippe, addressing the opening ceremony, praised Morocco’s sustained investment in its police institution, describing the DGSN as a model of institutional transformation within the broader global security community.
The Secretary General of the Arab Interior Ministers Council, Mohammed Ben Ali Koman, who attended the opening of the event affirmed that Morocco’s pioneering initiative establishing Open Days for the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) constitutes a “source of inspiration” and a model to follow for establishing a modern vision of security action.
Koman explained that this vision is manifested through the strengthening of human rights, the improvement of the population’s living conditions, and the adoption of community policing methods.
He also expressed his sincere appreciation and gratitude to King Mohammed VI for his fruitful efforts in favor of just Arab causes and for the consolidation of international peace and security.
