Austrian group Amiblu, which makes glass-fibre reinforced plastics pipes, tanks and fittings for water, wastewater…, has extended its Moroccan production site with the support of Insta Globe, a global leader in industrial electrification services.
The extension will enable Amiblu to boost production setting eye on North African market with its GRP pipe systems for drinking water, wastewater, stormwater, and irrigation infrastructure.
GRP pipes are lightweight and corrosion resistant. They offer long service life, low hydraulic losses, and minimal maintenance, making them a strong alternative to steel, ductile iron, or concrete for many applications.
“This extension supports Amiblu goal seeking to improve access to safe water and sanitation, and to build resilient, long-life water networks globally,” said Omar Benyahia, Managing Director of Amitech Maroc, subsidiary of Amiblu.
“Both Amiblu Technology and Insta Globe teams were instrumental in the successful delivery of the project’s electrification activities. Their professionalism, technical competence, and disciplined execution enabled us to launch operations on schedule and with confidence in the reliability of our pipe production systems”, he added.
“This project demonstrates Insta Globe’s ability to deliver complex industrial electrification in manufacturing environments and bring production facilities online reliably and safely anywhere in the world,” said Ivo Pukk, CEO of Insta Globe Engineering.
“We’re very pleased to have worked with Amiblu Technology team to bring this facility in Morocco online and help support critical water infrastructure”, underlined Mr. Ivo Pukk.
Amiblu’s pipes are used to transport water reliably for municipal, industrial, and regional infrastructure systems worldwide. In Africa, Amiblu has already delivered multiple significant infrastructure projects. Its GRP pipe solutions have been implemented in major applications such as the extensive GRP drainage pipelines for the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) infrastructure in Dakar, Senegal.
