Moroccan police arrested a 37-year-old man from Oman at Casablanca’s Mohammed V International Airport on Thursday after discovering he was wanted under an international arrest warrant issued by authorities in Oman, according to security forces.
Officers detained the suspect as he prepared to board a flight to Cairo. A database check by the National Police (DGSN) confirmed that he was wanted by Omani judicial authorities him in connection with an alleged fraud case.
The suspect was remanded in custody pending further investigation under the supervision of the Public Prosecutor’s Office.
The Interpol Bureau in Rabat will notify its Omani counterpart of his detention before initiating extradition procedures.
