The total value of projects funded by Bayt Mal Al-Qods Acharif Agency in 2025 reached eight million dollars, Mohamed Salem Cherkaoui, the Agency’s Managing Director, said, emphasizing that Morocco remains the Agency’s sole funder.
Cherkaoui, who was presenting this week in Rabat the Agency’s 2025 activity report and its 2026 action plan, said that the budget for projects implemented in Al-Qods amounted to $6.5 million, distributed between the sectors of social aid and human development.
He noted that these projects are carried out in a context marked by the humanitarian, social, and economic repercussions of the war in Gaza, as well as the difficult economic situation in Al-Qods due to a fragile security environment.
In this context, Cherkaoui stressed that the Agency has participated in the national mobilization campaign launched by King Mohammed VI, Chair of the Al-Quds Committee, in support to Gaza, through the allocation of a $1.5 million budget for emergency operations in the Gaza Strip.
Regarding 2026, he indicated that the Agency aims to overcome the financing crisis, continue its administrative reform, and implement its digital strategy (2024–2027), with a view to optimizing resources, improving the efficiency of programs and projects, and continuing to provide support to the Palestinian population.
It is to be recalled that the agency has obtained, on Friday, the annual renewal of its certification of compliance with international ISO quality standards in the areas of donation management, as well as project implementation and monitoring procedures in Al-Quds.
The Agency first obtained this certification at the end of 2023, after meeting the requirements of the ISO 9001:2015 international standard for quality management systems.
This recognizes the administrative modernization process undertaken over the past two years, through the introduction of integrated digitalization measures within the institution, the improvement of its financial and administrative management, and the diversification of its funding sources, in line with its statutes and financial management framework, the Agency said in a statement.
The renewal of the international ISO certification follows a thorough and rigorous external audit, which focused in particular on the development of the quality system procedures manual, the monitoring of performance indicators, and the organization of intensive training sessions for staff in the financial and administrative departments, the same source added.
It will enable the Agency to further strengthen its standing with partners, donors and funding institutions, as an organization that adheres to international standards of quality and transparency.
In addition, the Agency indicated that it aims, in the next phase, to obtain further quality-related certifications, to further consolidate the transparency standards adopted by the institution.
