A special tribute was paid to the Moroccan police (DGSN) during the closing ceremony of the Arab Security Cooperation Center, on the sidelines of the Arab Cup football competitions in Doha.
Qatari authorities commended Morocco’s proactive contribution to the smooth running of the tournament, highlighting the team’s efficiency in coordination and real-time information exchange regarding Moroccan supporters.
Officials overseeing the Arab Security Cooperation Center praised the DGSN’s unwavering commitment to strengthening international security partnerships and expanding collaborative frameworks in policing, particularly in the context of major sporting events.
The Moroccan delegation, composed of seasoned security experts specializing in sports event safety, actively participated in the center’s operations, which focused on monitoring fan movements and sharing critical data during the competition.
The DGSN has played a key role in security during the World Cup in Qatar in 2022. Qatar formally acknowledged Morocco’s professionalism and strategic engagement, crediting the DGSN’s efforts with enhancing public safety, operational efficiency, and the overall success of the tournament’s security framework.
In preparation for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Morocco 2025, the DGSN has announced the creation of an African Security Cooperation Center. This new platform will bring together representatives from participating nations’ police forces alongside Moroccan security services. Its mission: to manage data, coordinate security operations for fan supervision, and analyze information related to all aspects of the continental football showcase.
This initiative underscores Morocco’s strategic vision to ensure safe, well-organized sporting events, reinforcing its role as a leader in security innovation and international cooperation.
