Senior EBRD delegation visiting Morocco to discuss joint cooperation projects
A senior delegation from the Board of Directors of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) started Monday a five-day working visit to Morocco.
The visit is part of a regular series of consultations that enable EBRD Board Directors to discuss local economic priorities and maintain close dialogue with the authorities and the private sector.
During their trip, the EBRD Board Directors will visit private and public projects financed by the Bank in Casablanca, the Fez Meknes region and Tangier.
The visit will provide shareholder representatives with the opportunity to meet senior government officials, representatives of the business community, international partners and civil society organizations.
The European Bank’s senior delegation is expected to meet with Minister of Economy Nadia Fettah, Minister of Equipment & Water Nizar Baraka, Managing Director of Morocco’s Central Bank Abderrahim Bouazza as well as with SG of the Ministry of Energy Transition & Sustainable Development and Head of Moroccan employers Union.
Since the start of its engagement in Morocco in 2012, the EBRD has invested more than €5.8 billion in 123 projects, which include the financing of sustainable energy and infrastructure and the provision of business advice to more than 883 Moroccan small and medium-sized enterprises.
