European Commissioner Oliver Varhelyi expected in Morocco in February

European Commissioner for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Policy Oliver Varhelyi will visit Morocco during the week of February 20.

The announcement was made by the Moroccan foreign department following a phone call Sunday between the European official and Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita.

The ministry described the talks as “productive and constructive.”

Varhelyi confirmed the phone call and the visit on his Twitter account: “Great discussion today with Minister Nasser Bourita.” “We agreed to continue our exchanges during my upcoming visit to Morocco during the week of February 20.”

Early January, EU’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell visited Morocco and held talks with several Moroccan official. Both sides then expressed the desire to strengthen cooperation in 2023.
