Morocco, France to hold economic forum in Sahara city of Dakhla

Preparations are underway for the Morocco-France Economic Forum, scheduled to take place on October 9 in Dakhla, under the theme “Towards New Perspectives for the Development of the Morocco-France Economic Partnership.”

The event aims to inject fresh momentum into bilateral economic cooperation and spotlight the strategic potential of Morocco’s southern regions, L’Economiste reported.

France has since July 2023 recognized Morocco’s sovereignty over the Sahara territory and backed autonomy as the only solution to the dispute.

According to L’Economiste, the forum will be organized by Morocco’s private sector group CGEM.

The event will bring together leading Moroccan and French economic and institutional actors to explore investment opportunities in Morocco’s southern regions and foster new avenues for collaboration.

The forum will focus on several strategic sectors, including agro-industry, renewable energy, infrastructure, logistics, tourism, and services.
