Vice-President of the European Bank for Reconstruction & Development, Mark Bowman, will visit Morocco this June 18 – 20 to discuss with Moroccan officials the Bank’s support for private-sector financing and transition to green economy.
During the visit, Mr. Bowman will meet several government officials, members of the business community and sign agreements on new investments.
He will also speak at the opening ceremony of the “World Cup, World Climate” conference, as well as attending the Women in Infrastructure conference organised by the EBRD in Casablanca at the University Mohammed VI Polytechnic (UM6P).
“I look forward to talking to the Moroccan authorities and the business community and discussing our future areas of cooperation”, said Mr. Bowman
The EBRD is “committed to supporting Morocco’s economic transition, and we value our longstanding partnership with government authorities, partner banks and the private sector – all essential drivers of a greener, more inclusive economy”, he added.
Morocco is a founding member of the EBRD and became one of the Bank’s countries of operation in 2012. To date, the EBRD has invested more than €5.4 billion in the country through 119 projects, with more than 72 per cent of those funds going to the private sector.
