Aeronautics & Defense: Morocco’s cooperation with Embraer gaining momentum

A senior executive at Brazilian Embraer company has recognized Morocco’s fast-emerging aerospace industry, saying that the multinational aircraft manufacturer has identified key suppliers in Morocco to be integrated into its global supply chain.

The remarks were made by Roberto Chaves, executive vice-president of global procurement and supply chain at Embraer following his recent visit to the North African Kingdom.

“We believe there are opportunities to bring mutual benefits, both in the short and long term, through innovation and economic growth in both countries”, he underlined, saying Morocco’s aerospace industry has demonstrated strong capabilities in s aero-structures, machining, sheet metal work and composites.

The visit of Embraer delegation to Morocco comes few months after the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Morocco to explore potential joint projects.

Embraer sees significant opportunities for business and industrial collaboration as both Brazil and Morocco share a strong commitment to deepening cooperation and investment. These opportunities span across commercial aviation, defense, and urban air mobility.

Embraer designs, develops, manufactures, and markets aircraft and aerospace systems. It is the third largest producer of civil aircraft worldwide after Boeing and Airbus. The company is also recognized among the major defense contractors.
