Moroccan and Spanish experts have agreed to advance engineering studies related to the fixed link project across the Strait of Gibraltar at a meeting held Thursday in Madrid between officials from the Moroccan National Company for the Studies of the Strait of Gibraltar (SNED) and the Spanish Society for Fixed Communication Studies across the Strait of Gibraltar (SECEGSA).
The two companies’ top executives have also agreed to digitize the project’s documentation, establish data management system, for the underwater link project between Morocco and Spain, a dream which could become a reality by 2030 thanks to the World Cup jointly organized by the two countries along with Portugal.
During this visit, Spain’s Center for Studies and Experimentation in Public Works (CEDEX) and Morocco’s Public Laboratory for Testing and Studies signed an agreement to carry out joint research & technical studies on transportation infrastructure, geotechnical engineering, railways, water resources, road safety and environmental management.
