Morocco top Spring destination, Tangier one of top 10 tourist destinations in 2025 -international media

There is not a week that goes by without Morocco making headlines in international media as a top tourist destination.

In this vein, French specialized website Infotravel published Saturday a story where it points out that as spring approaches, Morocco remains a prime destination for travel and relaxation.

The website, which highlights seven iconic places to explore “without further delay” in various Moroccan cities, notes that the Kingdom is brimming with activities to enjoy as a couple, with family, or among friends.

While Rabat offers an immersion into the country’s history and culture through “the majestic Mohammed V Mausoleum, the Hassan Tower, the Medina, and the Kasbah of the Oudayas,” Marrakech, on the other hand, invites visitors to discover a city where cultures intertwine, blending local tradition with a contemporary touch—between “the mythical Jemaa-el-Fna Square and the prestigious Hivernage district,” with the Atlas Mountains looming in the distance, the website points out.

In Essaouira, the historic medina, the bustling port, and the majestic ramparts immerse visitors in the authenticity of the City of the Trade Winds.

For the author of the article, Casablanca, Agadir, and M’diq are also must-visit destinations in spring, “an ideal season for exploration and relaxation.”

In Berlin, flagship magazine “Brisant”, a publication of the German public broadcaster Das Erste, has ranked the Moroccan northern city of Tangier among the top ten tourist destinations to visit in 2025 for German travelers looking for experiences outside Germany.

Tangier is featured on this ranking alongside several other dream destinations around the world, such as the Greek islands, Mokra Gora (Serbia), Jyväskylä (Finland), East Sussex (England), Tarn (France), Albania, Guadalajara (Mexico), the Faroe Islands and Arequipa (Peru).

Brisant recommends, in its Travel section, Tangier to German tourists keen to get off the beaten track, away from classic destinations such as Majorca, Italy or Croatia. The magazine highlights the city’s singular charm, thanks to its exceptional location lodged between Africa and Europe, and between the Atlantic and the Mediterranean.

Among the tourist sites to discover in this emblematic city, the magazine cites the Kasbah Museum and the ancient medina. It also points out that diving enthusiasts can enjoy a unique underwater display, combining seaweed, rocks, and schools of fish.

The German magazine also recommends a visit to the famous Hercules Caves, a fascinating immersion in legend and natural heritage.

As the fourth-largest outbound market for Moroccan tourism, Germany is recording strong growth in the number of visitors to Morocco, and offers promising development potential. In 2024, Morocco saw 826,282 German tourist arrivals, up 22% from 2023.
