Morocco & Senegal discuss judicial cooperation ties

Ways of enhancing further cooperation in judicial matters between Morocco and Senegal were at the center of talks held Monday in Rabat between Mohamed Abdenabaoui, first President of Morocco’s Court of Cassation & President Delegate of the High Council of the Judiciary, and Mohamadou Mansour Mbaye, first President of the Supreme Court of Senegal.

The meeting is part of the cooperation agreement signed between the two countries’ judiciary institutions in 2007 for the exchange of experiences and best judicial practices.

The agreement also seeks to strengthen Moroccan-Senegalese cooperation in magistrates’ training and modernization of courts system through digitalization of services.

Speaking to journalists following the meeting, Mr.Mbaye lauded the Moroccan judicial independence and judiciary system describing it as an “inspirational model” for many countries.

Morocco and Senegal share strong cultural and historical ties based on longstanding friendship and the values of solidarity, trust and a singular strategic partnership.
