Moroccan King’s firm support to Palestinian cause & people highlighted before Islamic Ministers of Culture
The firm and constant support of King Mohammed VI to the Palestinian cause and people was highlighted Wednesday in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, at the 13th Conference of Culture Ministers of the Islamic World.
This came in a speech delivered on behalf of Morocco at the conference by Minister of Culture, Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid.
Bensaid also highlighted the crucial role of the Rabat-based Bayt Mal Al-Quds Asharif Agency, the executive branch of the Al-Quds Committee, chaired by the King, in preserving the cultural and civilizational identity of the Holy City.
He surveyed the projects and programs implemented by the Agency for the benefit of Al-Quds inhabitants, in preserving the city’s heritage, rehabilitating its cultural infrastructure, and supporting creative sectors.
These initiatives reflect Morocco’s unwavering commitment, under the leadership of King Mohammed VI, to defending Al-Quds and supporting the resilience of its inhabitants, the Moroccan official stated.
He also shed light on the efforts made to protect and enhance cultural heritage in the Islamic world, mentioning in this vein the achievements scored under the Cultural Heritage Committee of the Islamic World.
These efforts have resulted in the listing of 117 tangible and intangible heritage elements on ICESCO’s list, including several Moroccan elements, further strengthening the Kingdom’s position at the forefront of nations working for the protection and preservation of cultural heritage, he said.
