Morocco will acquire 36 Atmos 2000 self-propelled Elbit artillery systems, media reports said.
The new armaments will replace an initial order placed with France’s KNDS Caesar, a self-propelled howitzer system that Morocco reportedly abandoned due to technical shortcomings, according to La Tribune newspaper.
The Atmos 2000 system, mounted on a Czech-made 6×6 or 8×8 truck chassis, was chosen for its technical capabilities as well as its commercial benefits, the paper said.
