Qatar-Morocco Year of Culture 2024 highlights by a Caftan Fashion Show

The Qatar-Morocco Year of Culture 2024 highlighted by a Caftan Fashion Show.

The outstanding fashion show, celebrating the excellence and creativity of traditional Moroccan haute couture, was held at “Dar Al Maghreb” in Doha Wednesday, under the effective chairmanship of Princess Lalla Hasnaa and Sheikha Al Mayassa Bint Hamad Al-Thani.

This fashion show celebrates the talent of ten Moroccan caftan designers, who have transformed their dreams into unique creations blending tradition with modernity.

Inspired by the ghazal poetry and Arabic calligraphy, the collections of Amina Benmoussa, Yasmina Benyahya, Frédérique Birkemeyer, Myriam Bouafi, Maison Sara Chraïbi, Najlae Diouri, Zineb Joundy, Fouzia Naciri, Albert Oiknine and Houda Serbouti, are an ode to Moroccan craftsmanship and a tribute to the timeless elegance of the caftan.

Musical interludes, reflecting the richness and diversity of Moroccan musical heritage, complemented the fashion show that was attended by several foreign ambassadors and eminent personalities from the realms of art, culture and economy.

Later in the evening, Princess Lalla Hasnaa and Sheikha Al Mayassa chaired at the Museum of Islamic Art in Doha, a dinner banquet held in honor of the guests attending the Caftan Fashion Show.

The Qatar-Morocco Year of Culture 2024, initiated by “Years of Culture”, testifies to the depth and solidity of the historic ties between the two brotherly peoples and the two Heads of State, King Mohammed VI Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani.
