Morocco bolsters solar panel manufacturing to 1 GW, speeding up energy transition

Italy’s Ecoprogetti Company, a leader in solar panels manufacturing, has increased the production capacity of its plant in Morocco from 500 MW to 1 GW, strengthening the country’s transition to a green economy.

The plant, located in the city of Al Hoceima, is operated by Almaden Morocco. It is the largest solar module manufacturing site in Morocco and North Africa.

The facility, which has been expanded, features technology based on tunnel oxide passivated contact (TOPCon) G12 18BB half-cut cells, in a system designed to ensure maximum efficiency and superior quality in glass-glass modules.

Ecoprogetti said in a statement that Alamden Morocco will produce high-efficiency modules for both the African and global markets. Thanks to its advanced technology, the Italian company produces a wide range of turnkey production lines, ensuring efficiency, reliability, and the highest quality output.
