2024 MEDays Grand Prize awarded to PMs of Dominica, Grenada & Saint Lucia
The prestigious 2024 MEDays Grand Prize was awarded, on Saturday in Tangier, to three eminent Caribbean leaders: the Prime Minister of Grenada, Dickon Mitchell, the Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica, Roosevelt Skerrit, and the Prime Minister of Saint Lucia, Philip Joseph Pierre.
Awarded at the closing ceremony of the 16th MEDays Forum, this prize, exceptionally granted to three personalities, highlights the multidimensional ties of cooperation between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Caribbean nations, in line with King Mohammed VI’s vision on South-South cooperation.
The MEDays 2024 Grand Prize honors the leadership of these three heads of government, particularly in the socio-economic development of their respective countries and in the service of regional prosperity, the Amadeus Institute and the MEDays Forum Foundation say in a press release.
This award also testifies to the recognition of the Amadeus Institute and the MEDays Forum Foundation for their firm and constant support for Morocco’s sovereignty over the Sahara, as well as for the Moroccan autonomy plan, recognized as the only credible, realistic and lasting solution to this artificial regional dispute, the same source adds.
“The commitment of the Caribbean States to Morocco reflects an active and united strategic partnership, based on common values, a shared vision and close multidimensional ties,” the press release adds, underlining that this strategic partnership is illustrated by increased political, economic, cultural and diplomatic cooperation.
In awarding this Grand Prize, the Amadeus Institute and the MEDays Forum Foundation reaffirm their commitment to promoting the principles of dialogue, partnership and sustainable development embodied by the MEDays Forum, known as the “Forum of the South,” while celebrating the stakeholders who embody these values around the world.
“Thus, the distinction awarded to these three Caribbean leaders is a reminder of Morocco’s key role, under the impetus of HM King Mohammed VI, as a bridge between Africa, the Arab world and Caribbean countries, thus strengthening the foundations of solid and fruitful South-South cooperation,” the press release said.
