Sudanese-Russian cooperation in oil and gas field to be reinforced

A Sudanese delegation, led by Minister of Energy and Oil, Mohi-Eddin Naeem Mohamed Saeed, is currently paying a several-day visit to Moscow to discuss with Russian officials key areas of cooperation such as oil exploration and production, pipeline infrastructure, and the operations of oil companies.

This visit, started on Wednesday, is part of Sudan’s ongoing efforts to strengthen bilateral ties with Russia, particularly in the energy sector.

One of the highlights of the visit will be a meeting with Russia’s Minister of Energy, Sergey Tsivlev, scheduled for Friday November 15. The two ministers will explore potential areas for cooperation and discuss strategies for expanding energy partnerships between the two nations.

The Sudanese delegation is expected to meet with representatives from some of Russia’s leading oil and gas companies. These discussions will focus on leveraging Russia’s expertise in oil exploration, production technologies, and infrastructure development, with the aim of advancing Sudan’s energy sector and boosting its oil output.

This visit underscores Sudan’s commitment to enhancing its relationship with Russia, aiming to foster mutually beneficial collaborations in the energy industry.

Sudan is looking to capitalize on global expertise to improve its energy infrastructure, and this trip marks a significant step in further developing strategic partnerships with the international oil and gas community.
