France’s FM praises France-Morocco partnership as ‘exemplary’

France’s Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Jean-Noël Barrot, praised, on Monday in Paris, France’s “exemplary partnership” of North-South cooperation with Morocco.

Speaking at the closing ceremony of the first day of the Paris Peace Forum, attended political, business and civil society leaders from around the world, the French minister stressed that with Morocco “we are now looking towards a future that we have decided to build and defend together.”

“We decided together to launch a renovated partnership for the years to come, and we will make it stronger,” he said.

Barrot also called for a new cooperation approach with Africa.

“We must do more and better with Africa, because we have a long history with this great continent. Because we know we have many common challenges,” stressed the head of French diplomacy.

The 7th edition of the Paris Peace Forum, held under the theme “Wanted: A Functioning Global Order,” featured several sessions dedicated to geopolitics, peace and conflict, including the war in Ukraine and conflicts in the Middle East and Sudan.
Morocco was represented at the forum bu ambassador to France, Samira Sitail.
