Moroccan population grows 8.8% in a decade to 36.8 million in 2024
The Moroccan population grew 8.8% in a dedace to 36.82 million in 2024, government spokesman Mustafa Baitas said.
He was speaking following a cabinet meeting during which the interior minister submitted a draft law defining the number of the Moroccan population across the country, on the basis of the national census carried out last September.
The number of Moroccans grew 2.98 million people since the last census in 2014, Baitas said.
The number of Moroccan households grew 26.82% to 9.27 million and the number of foreign residents in the country grew 71.8% to 148,152.
The high commission for planning (HCP) will offer more details on the census once the above-mentioned law is published in the national gazette.
