Morocco, Germany review security cooperation in Rabat

Security cooperation between Morocco and Germany was reviewed at a meeting in Rabat Tuesday between Director General for National Security and Territorial Surveillance, Abdellatif Hammouchi, President of Germany’s Federal Criminal Police Office, Holger Münch, who is currently on a working visit to the Kingdom, at the head of a large security delegation.

The two sides discussed a range of bilateral security issues of mutual interest and underscored the importance of enhancing cooperation through the exploration of new avenues to benefit the shared interests of Morocco and Germany in the realm of security, the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) said in a statement.

Key topics included a comprehensive review of ongoing operational bilateral cooperation on various security fronts, mechanisms for bolstering partnership, providing reciprocal technical assistance in police training, and conducting joint exercises, the statement added.

The meeting reflects the two countries’ concerted effort to fortify their collaboration in the security domain. The aim is to align perspectives, coordinate efforts, and collectively confront the diverse array of security challenges and threats faced by nations today, the DGSN statement said.
