Morocco-Spain security, intelligence cooperation discussed in Rabat

Ways to bolster cooperation between Morocco and Spain in the realms of security and intelligence were reviewed at a meeting in Rabat Tuesday between, Director General of National Security and Territorial Surveillance, Abdellatif Hammouchi, and Spanish Commissioner-General of Information, Eugenio Pereiro Blanco, who is currently on a working visit to Morocco at the head of a large security delegation.

This meeting is part of the bilateral meetings held regularly between the officials of the security and intelligence services of the two countries, with the aim of examining ways to develop cooperation in a number of security fields, the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DGST) said in a statement.

The meeting also represents a new opportunity for the two parties to take stock of their distinguished cooperation relations in the field of security, and to exchange views on a range of issues of common interest, in addition to monitoring and preventing emerging dangers and challenges with a view to tackling them.

These talks reflect, once again, the high importance and advanced level of cooperation between the Moroccan and Spanish security services, which is based on the depth of the strategic partnership linking the two countries, the DGST statement added.
