Morocco and the U.S. Discuss Military Cooperation, Defense Industry and Training

Morocco and the United States discussed on Tuesday in Rabat military cooperation, including defense industry, the acquisition of military materials & equipment, training and technology transfer
During a meeting held Tuesday at the Royal Armed Forces General Staff Headquarters, Lt. Gen., Inspector General of Royal Armed Forces, Commander of the South Zone and U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for African Affairs Jennifer Zakriski also discussed disaster management.
The Moroccan-U.S. military talks were held in presence of Maj. Gen. Kenneth Ekman, Director of Strategy, Engagement and Programs at U.S. Africa Command and U.S. Ambassador to Morocco, Puneet Talwar.
Talks also covered Morocco’s role in peacekeeping operations, bilateral cooperation within the 2020-2030 roadmap, strategic dialogue, training, joint exercises and support programs.
Morocco is U.S. longstanding ally in the region and a key strategic partner in promoting and strengthening regional peace and security.
