Gabon, UAE seal MoU to attract investment into the African country’s economy
The Federation of UAE Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FCCI) and Gabon’s investment promotion agency ANPI-Gabon have inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to lure investment from the Gulf country to support economic development of Gabon.
The deal was signed by ANPI-Gabon CEO Ghislain Moandza Mboma and FCCI’s Secretary General Humaid Mohamed Bin Salem, who started a visit to Libreville Tuesday January 23 at the head of a business delegation. The visit scheduled strategic meetings aiming at bolstering economic ties between the two countries.
The UAE is keen to inject investment in many areas of Gabon’s economy, through mega projects in various fields, including energy and water production; digital infrastructures; and operation, production, refining and distribution of petroleum products.
Gabon is looking to diversify its energy-dependent economy.
The trip of the Emirati delegation comes in the wake of the visit Gabon’s transitional leader Brice Clotaire Oligui Ngema paid to the Gulf country in the framework of the COP28.
