Royal Armed Forces intercept over 1,000 would-be immigrants in Northern Morocco

Units of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR) in charge of border surveillance in the cities of Nador, M’diq, and Fnideq carried out several interception and removal operations of candidates for irregular emigration during the night of Sunday Dec.31, 2023 to Monday, January 1, 2024.

The FAR units also participated in joint cleanup operations in collaboration with local authorities and law enforcement.

In the city of Nador, the FAR units intercepted 175 candidates for irregular emigration of various nationalities (Algerian, Moroccan, Tunisian, and Yemeni), the FAR general staff said in a press release.

They also took part, during joint cleanup operations in the Northern cities of M’diq and Fnideq, in the interception of 935 candidates for irregular emigration who were preparing to leave Morocco for Spain, the press release said.
