King Mohammed VI stresses urgency for effective implementation of human rights principles at international symposium

King Mohammed VI emphasized the urgency of finding effective means to implement the principles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights during an international symposium in Rabat commemorating the 75th anniversary of the Declaration.

The King, in his royal message, noted that the international community has not fully realized these principles and underscored the importance of renewing the commitment to protecting human rights, especially for vulnerable groups, in a global context marked by tensions.

The King reaffirmed Morocco’s ongoing commitment to promoting human rights, highlighting that this extends beyond mere constitutional recognition, becoming a cornerstone of public policies.

He mentioned ongoing structural reforms in Morocco, including the universalization of healthcare coverage, social protection, and support for vulnerable groups. The revision of the Family Code, with extensive consultations to safeguard the rights of women and children, was also mentioned.
