U.S Senator Ted Cruz Lauds Israel’s Recognition of Moroccanness of Sahara

U.S. Republican Senator Ted Cruz has praised Israel’s decision to recognize officially Morocco’s full sovereignty over its entire Sahara territory, saying the move will open the way for to greater cooperation between the two countries.

The supportive stand was posted by the senator of Texas in his official tweeter account, hailing the Abraham Accords brokered by the U.S. administration.

These Accords helped to normalize relations between Israel, Morocco, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, and Sudan. They have opened up huge economic opportunities in the Middle East and paved the way for advancing peace in the region, especially between Palestinians and Israelis.

In a letter sent lately to King Mohammed VI, Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has announced his country’s recognition of the Moroccanness of the Sahara.

He also said Israel is considering opening a consulate in the Saharan city of Dakhla as part of his country’s sovereign decision.
