Hungary keen to invest in Agriculture, digital economy in Gabon
A group of Hungarian investors are mulling plans to invest in Gabon’s economy, mostly in the agriculture and digital economy sectors, Gabon Review reports.
Diplomat Georges Suha is heading the Hungarian delegation which met with Gabon’s Ministers of Trade, Yves Fernand Manfoumbi, and of Agriculture, Charles Mve Ellah.
The meetings addressed issues of common interest related to Gabon’s economic transformation model, taking into account certain speculations, notably agriculture and mining.
“We would like to be active in Gabon and focus on the agriculture and digital economy sectors. Hungarians are quite strong in these areas,” Suha said.
The visiting delegation also indicated that the European country is poised to invest in Gabon within the framework of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
“It is absolutely clear that there is a lot of potential in Gabon, and without physical presence, it is almost impossible to seize it,” Suha said after the meeting.
The Hungarian diplomat announced a coming visit by other investors.
