Pope Francis calls Tunisian youth not to lose hope

The head of Catholic Church Pope Francis Sunday called on Tunisian youth “not to lose hope and build a future of peace and fraternity in face of economic and social challenges.”

Addressing 100,000 people gathered at the Saint Peter’s Square, in the Vatican, the Pope touched on ongoing conflicts around the world and called for an acceleration of the pace of hope.

In this speech, the Pope addressed a message to the Tunisian people, “especially to young people and to those who suffer because of social and economic problems”, calling on them “not to lose hope and to build a future of peace and fraternity”.

The speech comes amid calls by Italy on Europe to help Tunisia address its economic and social challenges and consequently curb the flow of illegal migration from the coasts of the North African country.
