Arab Ministers’ health council back up Egypt’s proposal to establish Arab Drug Agency
The Council for Arab Ministers of Health approved Egypt’s proposal to establish the Arab Drug Agency, the Egyptian Ministry of Health and Population said in a statement according to state-run Ahram news outlet.
The approval is one of the most fruitful resolutions that resulted from the 58th session of the council, health minister Khaled Abdel-Ghaffar said.
The future agency will have its headquarters in Egypt. Ghaffar also indicated that it achieve pharmaceutical sustainability in all Arab countries through the creation of new markets for pharmaceuticals manufactured in Arab states.
The establishment of the agency, the minister added, will support Arab economies as well as achieve economic growth for all the countries.
The agency will be tasked to support supreme pharmaceutical authorities without contradicting any Arab country’s domestic laws.
