Morocco: Annual Diplomatic Charity Gala Dinner held in Rabat

The annual Diplomatic Charity Gala Dinner, organized by the Embassy of Nigeria and the Diplomatic Foundation, was held Wednesday in Rabat, under the chairmanship of Princess Lalla Hasnaa.

The event, placed under the high patronage of King Mohammed VI, brings together generous patrons, businessmen and artists around the Foreign Diplomatic Corps accredited to Morocco.

The Charity Diplomatic Gala aims to raise funds for the benefit of deprived populations and thus contribute to financing social actions and associative projects, particularly in the areas of health, education, training and empowerment of young girls.

In a speech for the occasion, the Ambassador of Nigeria in Rabat, Al Bashir Ibrahim Saleh Al Husseini congratulated King Mohammed VI and the entire Royal Family, as well as the Moroccan people for the historic victory of the national football team and its qualification for the quarter-finals of the FIFA World Cup Qatar-2022, describing the qualification as a great achievement that honors the Arab world and the African Continent.

This annual Diplomatic Charity Gala, organized by the Diplomatic Foundation in partnership with embassies accredited to Rabat, is intended to be a vector of solidarity and support for charitable projects in the Kingdom, the diplomat underlined.

Saleh Al Husseini also hailed all the achievements made by the Kingdom, and welcomed the Morocco-Nigeria cooperation and the development projects carried out within this framework, in particular the Nigeria-Morocco Gas Pipeline.

He likewise highlighted the efforts made by the leaders of the two brotherly countries, King Mohammed VI and President Muhammadu Buhari, to strengthen bilateral relations in several areas.

For his part, the President of the Diplomatic Foundation, Abdelati Habek, expressed his high appreciation and esteem as well as his deep gratitude to Princess Lalla Hasnaa for her constant support and effective presidency of this diplomatic charity gala.

Habek who highlighted the tireless efforts and noble initiatives of Princess Lalla Hasnaa, stressed that the organization of this Gala, which has become an annual tradition, finds its essence in the approach of King Mohammed VI, Amir Al-Mouminine, who has always called for assistance to the poor and needy, thus consecrating the values of mutual aid, solidarity and compassion within society.

Subsequently, the Shield of the Diplomatic Foundation was given to Princess Lalla Hasnaa, who had posed on this occasion for a souvenir photo with the organizing committee.
