Morocco & UK Central Banks hold workshop on cybersecurity for top African & Mideastern bankers
Nearly 30 senior executives representing twenty Central Banks from Africa and the Middle East attended a cybersecurity workshop organized Nov.28-29 in Rabat by Morocco’s Bank Al-Maghrib and the Bank of England (BoE).
The meeting was opportunity for the banking experts to exchange experiences and views on cybersecurity. The debates focused on topics related to cybersecurity strategy, cyber protection, cyber governance and cyber resilience.
Participants also discussed the application areas of cybersecurity in the IT systems, macro prudential supervision and oversight of financial market infrastructures.
They agreed to set up a virtual exchange network in cybersecurity to enhance further their partnership and ensure banking security by identifying threats and uncovering vulnerabilities.
