Qatar-based beIN media Group warns against World Cup matches broadcast in Gabon
Qatar-owned beIN MEDIA GROUP has warned against any attempt by whosever to broadcast its channels and FIFA World Cup matches in Gabon.
The group issued a statement arguing that it has no partner in Gabon, therefore it will take action against anyone who broadcasts its contents and the World cup expected to kick off in Qatar this month.
In the statement, the media corporation took aim at SatCon, a local media company providing subscription channels.
“The broadcasting of the FIFA World Cup, Qatar 2022 via the channels beIN Sports in Gabon, especially by the operator SatCon, is prohibited and reprehensible,” the Qatari group said.
“beIN Media Group deplores the continuing illicit broadcasts despite numerous complaints and successive judicial and administrative condemnations by Gabonese authorities,” the statement added.
BeIN Sports, one of the channels of the group, has obtained rights to broadcast every minute of the first world cup happening in the Arab world. The channel will provide coverage of the matches in English, French, Arabic and sign language.
