Pro-Algeria lobbyist leaves US senate

Pro-Algeria Oklahoma senator Jim Inhofe has retired after a long career in which he attempted multiple times, but in vain, to undermine the close relations between Morocco and the US.

The longtime top Republican on the Senate Armed Services Committee was replaced by Markwayne Mullin.

The conservative Inhofe was an ardent defender of the authoritarian regime in Algiers and its spokesperson at the senate, defending Algiers hegemonic agenda in North Africa.

His most recent diatribe against Morocco was when he called on the defense department to move the African Lion military exercises away from Morocco, a call that fell on deaf Pentagon ears due to close ties between US and Moroccan armies linked by a strategic ten-year deal.
